As a fun fact I was writing this article just minutes before jimdo kicked the website from their plattform. Since I had no backups for it I now try to recapitulate my thoughts I had two days ago – wish me luck 😀
Right now I am already in the brainstorming phase for the next version of iBuntu. It’s already clear that with the 2.0 Version I will move to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS as new main version. But I will still support “Catalinux” at least until the EOL of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
Recently, Apple announced their new macOS Version “Big Sur” at WWDC2020:
Also I saw that the legendary b00merang-Team already said they are working on a gnome-Theme based on the new macOS 11.0 “Big Sur” Design:
(Again, these sites and the b00merang Project are terrific examples on why nothing we do here is illegal or worth striking us down – or these sites and projects would need to go down with us too which won’t be the case – because they don’t do anything Apple would really bother)
My real question was now, should we just wait until B00merang delivers – or should we maybe have a closer look at Deppin since the new Deepin-Desktop already looks almost like macOS Big Sur – so much that I try to think that this time Apple copied the “Look & Feel” of Deepin for their own OS.
Compare yourself:

So once again as a running gag: Could the creators of Deepin now sue Apple for copying their Look%Feel? No? Well than why should anyone claim we would do something illegal here? 😉
For now this is just playing around and I am far away from setting up a Beta Version of iBuntu 2.0 – But at least I already have a name for it:
iBuntu 2.0 Lix Nur
I will keep you informed about how my tests with Deepin goes and will tell you my final decision weather I will switch to Deepin or stay with Gnome and the Design-Themes of the b00merang Team.
