Hello my dear friends of iBuntu OS!
After more than one year since we got stuck in developing new versions of our Mac-like distribution based on a stable Linux-Version from Ubuntu, we can now officially continue with our work!
All the thanks for that at this point goes to Piero Proietti, an Italian developer living in Rome who created the incredible tool “Penguin’s Eggs”.
You can find something about him at this link:
https://penguins-eggs.net/about-me.html

Thanks to him and his tool we were finally able to create a new process of building our iso-files for you.
And like I promised last week, this will now be our new roadmap:
- Release of Version 1.4 of Catalinux still in July 2022.
- Release of Version 2.1 of Lix Sur around the end of August 2022
- Release of Version 3.0 (Ubuntu 22.04 based) and 4.0 (KDE-Neon based) – names yet still has to be found – until the end of October 2022.
So the next thing that you will hear from us will be the release note of Catalinux 1.4.
We are so happy, that finally we can start again, thanks again to Piero who coded this amazing tool which we hope he will continue to maintain for many years still since there is just nothing like this out there by far, he really programed the best remastering tool we ever laid hands on – and we had them all, remastersys, raspin, pinguy builder, bodhibuilder, systemback, life-builder and even our own self-coded iBuntu-builder. Nothing comes even close to this easy to use and powerful tool.
So he owns most of the credits that we are able to be back again soon – his tool creates the isos while we can focuss on creating the best mac-like linux experiance you can imagine.
Stay tuned. Soon we will have Version 1.4 ready for you 🙂
So long,
BOfH
Nice! I’m waiting for next releases.
Good luck 😉
Thanks for everything guys, i’ll be really waiting for it.
are you going to make monterey version?
Yes, after we release Version 1.4 and 2.1 of Catalinux and Lix Sur we will start developing a Monterey-Version based on Ubuntu 22.04 – and also parallel will develop a “Ventura” Version based on KDE-Neon.
So we have big plans for the comming months to catch up the last year 🙂
I’m a true fan of your amazing work ! Keep up all this passion for this great project ! Greetings from Argentina ! 🙂
hi, well done
but will be the versions of ibuntu stable enough for daily use (workstation)?
Greetings from Austria
Yes, Catalinux (Version 1.4 now) was always stable for daily usage. And Version 2.1 we are working on right now to ensure that it also will be stable and bugfree. We don’t want to release only fancy looking stuff which isn’t really usable, our OS serves for many of us as main operating system on our private and also working machines in office too, so it’s our bread and butter to make our releases stable 🙂
Congrats on coming back!
